The developers describe the plugin as a saturated lag effect designed to achieve results in the shortest possible time. It is noted that the saturation section migrated to Slappy straight from the denise Bad Tape film emulator.
Ease of use is at the forefront here. Despite this, there are enough knobs to turn: users can adjust the ratio of the source and processed sound, the delay time, the amount of saturation and feedback, as well as apply high-pass and low-pass filters.
