Baby Audio has released a new TAIP plugin. The novelty is a film emulation running under the control of artificial intelligence algorithms.
According to Baby Audio, TAIP adds “authentic analog warmth” to the signal without the need for complex routing. The plugin is based on an artificial intelligence algorithm that recreates the nuances of analog circuits.
The developers note that the result of the work is a believable emulation of the film. The instrument adds extra warmth to the signal and creates the effect of gluing different signals together. However, TAIP can be used as an alternative to distortion.
The emulator is equipped with a wide range of settings, allowing you to quickly create a unique effect of saturation and film distortion. With TAIP, the signal is saturated with musical saturation, and the plug-in itself does an excellent job of gluing together drums, instruments and vocals.
The tool has a fully scalable interface with three backgrounds: dark, light and gray. The latter will help you choose a comfortable interface display option depending on the time of day and user preferences.
The plug-in parameters are controlled using the knobs and knobs in the center of the interface. So the Drive knob controls the “coloring” of the signal, allowing both to slightly warm the signal and to completely distort it.
The Mix / Tape knob activates the classic tape flange effect. It is noted that the parameter works in parallel mode, users can independently choose the ratio of the original and processed signal.
The Model switch controls the modes of the plugin. In the Single position, TAIP creates a classic emulation of tape, in Dual mode, a series of two simulations are activated, linked to each other. According to the developers, in the second mode, the signal “gains additional weight.”
The Lo-Shape and Hi-Shape sliders selected the frequency range to which saturation is applied. So, for example, you can saturate only the high or low frequencies in the signal.
The Glue knob creates a compression-like effect in the low frequency range, and glues the signal. The Noise knob adds film-like noise and noise to the signal.
In turn, the Wear regulator combines the effects of stuttering and chewing film. The nearby Presence knob cuts the high-end frequencies. This creates the inherent lack of high frequencies in film.
The Input knob allows you to select one of two signal levels – Normal and Hot. According to the developers, the Hot mode distorts the input signal more, but does not overload the output volume. It is noted that the signal can be distorted even more by activating the Auto Gain mode.
The plug-in comes with a database of 135 presets. The authors of the blanks include Mark Needham (Fleetwood Mac, The Killers, Bloc Party, Elton John), Rob Kleiner (Sia, Britney Spears, David Guetta, Cee Lo) and Cesar Sogbe (Prince, David Byrne, Jennifer Lopez).
