Precedence is a psychoacoustic stereo positioning instrument.
It creates an organically modulated stereo image that creates an immediate sense of width, depth and presence, similar to stereo microphone techniques used in acoustic spaces.
It then positions that image on the virtual stage, giving mixing engineers ultra-precise control over placement from left to right and front to back.
The end result is an incredible sense of hyper-realistic 3D space and the specific localization of each instrument within that space.
Precedence 1.5 introduces Precedence Link, multi-instance editing, group editing, global broadcast, new algorithm modes, and many other extremely innovative features. These features allow Precedence and Breeze 2.5 to function as a single spatial mixing environment, delivering both an incredibly synergistic workflow and truly next-generation audio results.
Taken together, the system introduced in Breeze 2.5 and Precedence 1.5, which we affectionately nicknamed PBJ, represents a new paradigm for spatial mixing. It combines direct spatial sensing and audio positioning with adaptive multi-level reverb that automatically adjusts to complement the positional imaging created by Precedence.
