Description: Chamber ensembles and soloists
TIME micro is your creative resource for atmospheric and rhythmic accents, geared towards small groups of instruments and soloists – like chamber-sized string sections and small vocal groups of no more than three singers.
Instead of standard instruments, users often find lower or softer alternatives: basset horn instead of clarinet, flugelhorn/cornet instead of trumpet, and alto/bass flute instead of standard flute.
In addition to an inspiring string quartet recorded in unison and a deep bass section, TIME micro expands your palette of sounds with shimmering celesta, harp and mandolin tones. Not to mention experimental and unusual articulations – from airy woodwind tones, harmonic waves and colors to stuttering staccato performances and barely audible super-soft string bows.
Unique Colors and Textures – Just a plethora of subtle touches to expand your orchestral inspiration set with unique intimate texture colorings.
Unstable tones – The sense of shifting time that the TIME micro and its name gives can be explained by subtle forward movements within looped, stable textures, as well as “pendulum swing”, which recreates the pendulum’s oscillating movements as dynamic swells within these patches. Rhythmic patterns that conjure up the sounds of clockwork played on the same pitch or in the form of non-tonal percussive notes.
Timeless recordings – As with the TIME macro, Metropolis and Berlin Series collections, all orchestra samples were recorded using the highest mic settings at the legendary Teldex Scoring stage. Superb acoustics, perfect for acoustic sampling, this uniquely balanced hall also features some of the best microphones from the last fifty years.
