Description:
After our recent experience with the SSS, we assumed it was the perfect tool for clean sound, but the CRS gives it serious competition.
The CRS is slightly more compressed, slightly rounder, a bit softer and warmer, with more low-mid presence. The result is an incredibly musical clean tone that transitions smoothly and effortlessly into some of the best distortion and crunch we’ve ever heard.
It can also be tuned for more sparkle and detail in the high frequencies without sounding harsh compared to the SSS. The tone is still very dynamic and detailed, but a bit rounder in the right places, making it well-suited for distorted tones as well. Along with phenomenal clean tone, it delivers some of the best blues tones we’ve ever heard.
The Gain Stage switch adds three different sound options to choose from, from traditional Dumblesque and Blackface tones to the signature TRCK sound.
It’s best known for being used by Matt Schofield and Mick Taylor of TPS.
An extremely versatile amp that, among other things, delivers some of the best tones we’ve ever heard from our favorite overdrive pedals.
