In the world of tube guitar amps, nothing is more legendary than the Dumble ODS amps. The TRCK OD50 is a fantastic-sounding version of this legendary amp type. This 50-watt version excels in every tone-tuning test: powerful, rich, and detailed clean sound with captivating low-mids and weight behind every note attack, a very musical crunch, drive that can be either compressed and smooth or powerful and dynamic, and viscous, syrupy lead tones unlike anything else. A truly magnificent amp with a wealth of options.
Because the amplifier can be tuned in so many ways, this set features three Drive gain settings: the first is soft and compressed, the second is intermediate between compression and greater dynamics, and the third is the most open, dynamic, and harmonically rich. The settings for the third Drive level are almost identical to those used by Josh Smith in the official YouTube demo, which includes a stunning jam with Matt Schofield.
It’s best used with vintage EV12L speakers to achieve the smooth, detailed, yet dynamic sound these amps are known for. It’s capable of producing plenty of bass that sounds good, so the speakers must also meet these requirements to achieve high-quality sound.
