Description : TS-1 is a frequency-dependent transient shaper designed to control the attack and sustain of an incoming audio signal. Thanks to the “Compression by Saturation” concept, the TS-1 perfectly adds heat and punch to drum tracks without losing dynamics. TS-1 has two separate attack and sustain detection schemes, the signal of which can be filtered to improve detection (SC filtering) or to color processed audio. The soft clipping scheme gently saturates and compresses your signal in the same way as tape saturation.
You can get great results by combining a transient shaper with a saturator. You can create your own processing chain, for example, combining a large transient shaper attack boost with a classic tape saturator plugin to give your attack a louder but classic elusive distorted sound. However, if you want everything to be simpler, then the Audiority TS-1 plugin combines transient shaper and saturator in one plugin!
