MagnaValve2 is an unpredictable analog-style tonal stage built on the interaction between a tube driver, transformer weight, fluctuations in overall supply voltage, and subtle—or significant—hardware variances.
The tube amplifier section offers three response types, along with controls for cathode network behavior, gain, symmetry, and response characteristics, allowing you to shape harmonic coloration and transient feel. The transformer section adds gain, balance, winding variance, and selectable core materials, enabling low and mid frequencies to shift from a clean iron sound to a richer, more saturated tone.
Under the hood, MagnaValve models the dynamic behavior of analog components: program-dependent decay, magnetic memory, bias shift, component tolerance variations, crosstalk, self-noise, and air compensation. These elements react to the signal rather than remaining static like a fixed EQ curve or wave shaper, giving the processor a sense of depth and physical responsiveness.
Use it subtly to create cohesion and tonal character, or push it harder to achieve the extreme, distinctive sound of iron and tube amplification. The Model 51 EQ is an expressive three-band inductor equalizer designed for bold, musical sound shaping without sacrificing detail. With fixed frequency ranges and carefully modeled frequency response curves, it is simple to use: add weight, bring the source forward, soften harshness, or open up the high end using broad, natural curves that are instantly mix-ready.
Model 51 combines measured frequency and phase characteristics with optional band-dependent saturation, transformer coloration, and a dedicated Drive stage. Choose between the smooth transformer character of “51,” the more saturated “51 Blue,” or the more pronounced “Boosted” mode.
The Drive stage adds density, second-harmonic warmth, and a gentle low-end contour, while 4x oversampling ensures smooth non-linear processing. Stereo Linked, Dual Mono, and Mid/Side modes allow for use on individual tracks as well as buses and mastering chains.
The Component Tolerance feature introduces subtle, stable differences between instances for more natural analog-style variation.

The plugin features a clean EQ with predictable curves, as well as an analog mode where the equalizer behaves like a controlled circuit. Input level, band-specific gain, analog mode, amplifier mode, “Color” mode, and “Transformer” mode allow you to choose the desired balance between a clean and a dynamic equalizer response.
It can remain smooth and “hi-fi” or become more energetic, punchy, and responsive when driven harder.
