Description:
Op-Amp Emulation
LemurAudio operational amplifier module, modeled based on a specific hardware unit

Overview:
The new version of SIMON introduces a mathematically precise op-amp model derived from a mastering equalizer, featuring three L/R matrix modes: EQUAL (both channels share the same harmonic structure), MODERN (each channel has a slightly different harmonic structure), and VINTAGE (each channel has a noticeably different harmonic structure). Two saturation models are available: OP-AMP (true to the hardware) and OP-AMP LP (Linear Phase)—the same circuit but with high-frequency phase shift eliminated—alongside DIGITAL, SIMON’s original clean saturation algorithm. The OP-AMP and OP-AMP LP modes operate in HQ and ULTRA settings, ensuring guaranteed sound quality and clarity. We have also modeled additional non-linear effects that imbue the entire system with dynamics, liveliness, and musicality, surpassing their hardware counterparts.

OP-AMP — A faithful hardware replica; phase-frequency response showing high-end phase shift
The OP-AMP model mirrors the original circuit exactly: the signal path drives a transformer, and this OP-AMP-to-transformer connection introduces a high-end phase shift—just like the original hardware. It delivers that signature hardware sound.

OP-AMP LP — Linear phase
Phase response of OP-AMP LP, linear across the entire range
OP-AMP LP models the same signal path but eliminates high-frequency phase shift, offering a cleaner, linear-phase character while retaining the same harmonic profile. Use this mode when you want the OP-AMP’s tonal color combined with perfectly linear high frequencies.

A true mastering EQ
SIMON’s center section featuring the logo and INPUT TRIM control
With two independent channels—each featuring high and low bands, three fully parametric bands, and dedicated OUTPUT TRIM controls—this is a full-fledged, balanced mastering EQ. It is built around a central INPUT TRIM control that drives an analog saturation stage. With Auto-Gain Compensation (AGC) enabled, the output level is automatically matched, allowing you to EQ freely without inadvertently increasing saturation.

Three parametric bands
SIMON’s three parametric bands: Gain, Q, and Frequency.
LOW, MID, and HIGH bands—each featuring dedicated Gain, stepped Q, and mastering-grade frequency grids on both channels. They offer a broad, musical response for tone shaping, yet are tight and surgical when you need to target a specific frequency with precision and repeatability. Shelf Height and Width Controls

SIMON Shelf Height and Width Controls
A broad high-frequency shelf for air and high-end detail, combined with a low-frequency shelf (switchable between 50 Hz and 100 Hz) for warmth and low-end control, offer classic, nuanced mastering techniques that go beyond standard parametric ranges.

Analog-Style Saturation
SIMON SAT Indicator and INPUT TRIM
INPUT TRIM drives the built-in analog-style saturator—the harder you push, the more harmonic color and density SIMON adds. The SAT indicator shows the intensity of the effect in real-time, while per-channel OUTPUT controls let you match levels so you can evaluate the tone rather than the volume.

Link & Mid/Side
SIMON LINK and M/S Mode Indicators
LINK gangs the left and right channel controls for quick, symmetrical adjustments in stereo mode. M/S switches processing from Left/Right to Mid/Side, allowing you to EQ the center and side channels independently—mastering-grade stereo control.
