Description:
Your new secret sauce
Streamline your workflow by combining processing—which would typically require a chain of plugins—into a single tool.
Features:
17 Saturation Types — All Dynamic-Ready
Choose from Orra Tube, 6 tape machine emulations, and 10 creative saturators—ranging from the vintage warmth of a preamp to the aggressive destruction of a wavefolder.
Any saturation type can be made dynamic. Instead of simply adding harmonics, dynamic saturation brings out quiet details through harmonic enrichment—think of it as upward compression, but with added color and character rather than just gain.
The result: presence and saturation that react to your performance, rather than a static effect simply layered on top.
Saturation That Breathes with Your Music
Snap to Note and Key
Stop guessing frequencies. Engage the “snap-to-note” button, and your bands will lock onto specific musical pitches—C2, F#4, or any note you choose.
Right-click any band and select the exact note you want to lock it to—C2, F#4, A1, or whatever fits your song. No more hunting for frequencies with a calculator.
Perfect for surgical work on bass notes, taming resonant frequencies in vocals, or ensuring your boosts align with the musical key.
An EQ That’s Musical, Not Just Technical
A Full-Featured EQ—And So Much More
Even before you touch the saturation, Orra EQ functions as a full-featured parametric equalizer: 16 bands, Q values from 0.1 to 40, filter slopes up to 48 dB/octave, and a frequency range spanning 10 Hz to 22 kHz. Mid/Side processing allows you to independently equalize, saturate, and dynamically process the center and sides of your mix. Comprehensive keyboard shortcuts provide full control without ever needing to take your hands off the keyboard.
Use it as a clean, transparent equalizer whenever needed—then switch any band to saturation or dynamic mode when you want something more. One plugin, zero compromises.
A professional equalizer that evolves with your needs.
New in version 1.2.1: an additional plugin is now included.
A dynamic equalizer that responds to any track.
Each dynamic EQ band features its own dedicated sidechain source. Combined with Orra Link—a free companion plugin that installs automatically with version 1.2.1—you can route any track in your session to any band, even in DAWs where standard sidechain routing between buses isn’t supported.
Sidechaining for every band. A unique source for every band.
Each dynamic EQ band can select its own independent detector source. Duck the low-frequency band based on the kick drum, attenuate a “muddy” frequency range triggered by the snare, or soften a harsh band in response to lead vocals—three distinct sources, three independent dynamic actions, all within a single plugin.
Three sidechain modes per band:
Internal
The band reacts to its own input signal—a classic, frequency-dependent dynamic equalizer. Perfect for de-essing or taming resonances.
External
Uses the host DAW’s sidechain bus. If you route a track to the sidechain input of Orra EQ, the band responds to its full-level signal—acting as a wideband, frequency-independent detector.
Link 1–36
36 channels are available via Orra Link. Simply link any track, select a channel, and that source becomes accessible to any band within the dynamic equalizer—no complex bus routing or auxiliary tracks required.
Frequency-independent, zero added latency
When using an external source or a Link connection, the detector reads the entire sidechain signal directly; adjusting a band’s frequency only changes which frequencies are affected, not what triggers the processing (following the convention established by Pro-Q 3 / Pro-MB). If a Link source stops transmitting, the band reverts to its internal detection mode within approximately 340 ms, ensuring that the audio signal is never interrupted.
Orra Link — Sidechain Sender Companion Plugin

In practice
Kick Drum → Channel 1
A dynamic low-frequency cut on the mix bus triggers every time the kick hits.
Snare Drum → Channel 2
A dynamic “mud-band” style cut on the guitars clears up frequency conflicts on the backbeats.
Lead Vocals → Channel 3
Dynamic frequency-specific cuts on the cymbal bus create space when the vocals take center stage.
One instance, multiple sources. Each band can be routed to a different Link channel — multiple sources, multiple dynamic movements, all within a single Orra EQ instance.
The biggest workflow update since launch
Orra EQ v1.2.1 introduces per-band sidechaining via Orra Link, oversampling for saturation modes, auto-opening settings panels, a piano-roll view, a zone view, and a tip carousel. Everything is additive — your existing sessions will load exactly as they were.
✓
Per-band sidechaining (Off / External / Link 1–36) for dynamic equalization
✓
Oversampling for saturation modes (Off / 2× / 4×)
✓
Settings panels with automatic tab-opening based on the selected band
✓
Piano view + Zone view, available for every band
✓
Tip carousel (displayed when no band is selected)
✓
UI refinements, stability fixes, and workflow consistency improvements
Changelog:
Orra EQ v1.3.0
NEW:
+ Low Cut filter (high-pass) — slopes 12 / 24 / 36 / 48 / 72 / 96 dB/oct
+ High Cut filter (low-pass) — same slopes, Butterworth, zero added latency
FIXES:
+ Fix: Pro Tools sessions restore bands correctly on load
+ Fix: Analyzer header toggles now persist across window close and project reload
