Description: Atmospheric French Horn Endless Motion
Developed by founder Michael Vignola, Non-Static Sampling was born from a desire to capture what makes live instruments truly human: the way timbre changes with breath, textures tremble under pressure, resonance deepening over time. Rather than capturing one perfect moment, this method preserves the natural development of sound, allowing each note to evolve, move, and gently transform during sustain. Each new stroke reveals additional detail not through automation, but through the sound itself. No recorded moment is exactly repeated. This is the essence of Non-Static Sampling. Sound is not simply reproduced – it evolves. Timbre does not freeze – it grows. Combined with the Infinite Motion Engine, this dynamic behavior becomes part of a generative system that gives composers new levels of control over time, movement, and emotional expression. The result is not just realism, but living, responsive matter that never stops. Rediscover the familiar
Obsidian Brass was born from the tension between strength and fragility – the power of brass instruments refracted through silence, space, and sonic decay. Where traditional brass libraries rely on bravado and cinematic impact, we chose a different path: exploring the instrument’s changing timbral facets through the prism of erosion, proliferation, and movement.

Using live brass recordings as source material, we created textures full of breath and fractures, achieving this not only through performance but also through the mechanisms of transformation. Thanks to Infinite Motion Engine 2.0 and Non-Static Sampling, each sound unfolds without repetition, revealing new facets with each keystroke. The result is a cross between heroic and ambient. This library is not designed to imitate traditional brass, but to reimagine it as a fluid instrument of emotional tension, shadows, and movement.
Obsidian Brass is made for composers who build atmospheres, for sound designers who seek contrasts: dense but hollow, powerful but restrained. It doesn’t matter if you’re working on sci-fi, neo-noir, or art house, this is brass that breathes through the fabric of the narrative.
