Release notes for EZdrummer 3.1.0
CHANGES
General
Minimum OS requirements have been raised to macOS 10.13 and Windows 10.
Added accessibility (screen reader) support.
Plug-in parameters are now named like the mixer knobs that they control.
Not installed core libraries are now shown under a header “Core Libraries – Not Installed” in the menu.
Mouse wheel step sizes have been changed for most knobs and sliders (though this does not affect “smooth mouse wheels,” such as trackpads). If Shift is pressed, the step/change will be smaller.
“50%” has been added to the available GUI scales.
125% scale should look sharper now (on “low-resolution” screens).
Pitch and volume for each instrument are now saved in the kit presets. Old kit presets also reset volume and pitch.
Main tab graphics/colors have been slightly changed.
The loading bar now flashes when sounds finish loading instead of when they start loading.
After importing an EZdrummer 2 project, saving will now suggest using the name of the project that was imported (instead of Untitled).
VST 3
In REAPER 7.34 (after clearing its VST cache) and Cubase/Nuendo 12.0.52 and later (and any other hosts supporting “IPluginCompatibility” added in VST SDK 3.7.5), EZdrummer 3 can now be loaded in DAW projects created on “the other OS” (macOS or Windows). For other hosts, an option has been added in Settings > Advanced, allowing you to select if the VST 3 should use its Mac ID or its Windows ID.
Song Track
“Paste on Selected Groove” now repeats the copied MIDI to fill the entire length of the selected groove.
The tempo button is now disabled when Follow Host is active.
Unmapped notes are now drawn above mapped ones instead of not at all.
The audio export dialog now allows for adding a name prefix. For example “My Song” will generate files like “My Song_Out_1+2.wav.”
Edit Play Style
If you change articulation for a snare from Center to Rimshot, any ghost notes are now kept playing Center.
Grooves Tab
Clicking in empty space below folders will now deselect everything in that column.
Added a “Select/Deselect” menu option for folders.
“Show MIDI Files from Subfolders” option is now global instead of being saved per project.
Changes within user folders in the OS will now be detected so that the “unsynced files” icon pops up on affected folders.
New design in the result view for when an empty User MIDI folder is selected.
Unmapped notes are now drawn above mapped ones and with a lower opacity instead of not at all.
You can now use Cmd/Ctrl-C shortcut to copy a groove from the result list.
Filter selection logic has been updated. Mainly, clicking (without keyboard modifiers) on an already selected filter will now deselect it if it is the only selected filter in the column, but if there are multiple, the clicked filter will become the only selected filter.
Tap2Find
The Tap2Find step sequencer now has different mouse cursors and hover effects.
When MIDI from the Song Track is used with Tap2Find, the time signature from the Song Track is used now instead of from the original MIDI file.
Grid Editor
On Mac, the default keyboard shortcuts for vertical zoom in/out are now Alt-Plus/Minus instead of Shift-Plus/Minus.
When notes become selected, if all selected notes with Humanize active use the same Velocity Style (i.e., there is no mix of styles), that style becomes the default (to be used the next time Humanize is turned on for any notes).
The Auto function of Swing Resolution has been improved to analyze the overall resolution of the selection instead of always using the smallest resolution.
The state of expanded rows is now saved in projects and will also be retained when switching presets within the same library.
Mixer
On/off macro controls are now buttons instead of knobs (for example in the Signature EZXs).
Bandmate
In certain EZXs with melodic instruments, notes for those instruments are excluded from the Bandmate results.
E-Drums
Added presets: Alesis Strata Core, Alesis Strata Prime, ddrum DDTi, DWe, EFNOTE 3, EFNOTE 5, EFNOTE 7, Roland SPD-SX PRO, Roland TD-02, Roland TD-07, Roland TM-2, Roland V71, Simmons Titan 70.
Settings
If a new sound path is selected in Settings, it is immediately applied – a restart is no longer needed.
Standalone
Bluetooth MIDI devices are now supported by the Mac standalone.
Installation
On Mac, deleting a plug-in or the standalone from disk and running the software installer will no longer deselect it by default on the Customize page. To stop installing a certain plug-in format, you will now need to run the uninstaller first, then deselect the format in the installer.
Installation is possible on a “clean” system, or over a previously installed version.
