Description: Double BassIntroducing Basstard, an instrument focused on recording the gradual breakdown of a full orchestral double bass. The library contains four main categories of sounds: Tonal, Percussion, FX, and Grooves.
The Tonal category covers traditional multisampled articulations such as plucking, staccato, rubber mallet on strings, drumstick on strings, and other instruments that can be used for tonal sampling. The Percussion category contains many heavy articulations based on circular repetitions, allowing you to play the instrument as if it were a drum kit (contains from 6 to 10 circular repetitions). The FX category contains horrific effects such as using a baseball bat on the bass like a bow, using a power drill on the strings and actually drilling into the bass, separating the neck from the body and essentially reassembling the instrument in horrific ways. The Grooves category contains unique tempo-synced grooves recorded at several basic tempos (80, 90, 100, 110, 120, 130, and 140 bpm). The result is a deeply sampled instrument that takes the orchestral double bass concept into darker, grittier, percussion-filled, unsettling territory.
