Description: CYCLES is an innovative and powerful framework for loop manipulation and granular synthesis. Through a variety of unique and interactive processes, they break and instantly restore sound into an endless array of recreated combinations of loops, playable textures, modulating rhythms, generative sequences and pads.
The LOOPS engine is an audio looper, splicer and synthesizer. Audio is driven using an interactive visual timeline that cuts loops into rhythmic segments and re-composites them to create new and irregular formations. Playback parameters facilitate detailed loop manipulation, while parameter modulation and slice randomization can create further rhythmic evolution.
The GRAINS engine works at the micro level, breaking loops into tiny fragments and then turning them into diffuse and amorphous cloud textures. Sound grains of varying size, shape, pitch, volume, panning and direction interact to create a variety of generative soundscapes and movements, with physically modeled modulation introducing natural repetition through parameter animation in loop models.
CYCLES includes over 450 loop sources divided into six separate packages, each designed to create new and unique directions in music creation. Loops can be used as-is to generate and develop existing ideas, or alternatively can be used purely as raw material for manipulation within the engine in completely new sound worlds.
