Description:
There have been many attempts to recreate Slash’s sound, especially the AFD era, but one of the quickest and easiest ways to achieve it is with the Marshall Slash Signature AFD100 amplifier, which was produced for only one year, in 2011.
It will easily deliver the piercing, bright, and rich string tones heard on many of Slash’s recordings. This is precisely what this amp is designed for, and it does an excellent job. For that bright, overdriven, aggressive Marshall sound, it’s hard to imagine anything better.
Our recording kit, based on this amp, records both the 34 mode and the even more overdriven AFD mode. This is NOT a versatile amp by typical standards—it doesn’t have (usable) clean tones, meaning it becomes thin and harsh when set clean. However, you’ll get a great clean sound if you turn down the guitar volume while playing a hot-rodded Marshall with the guitar volume cranked up to max.
This amp is a must-have for your collection if you love Guns N Roses, Slash, and 70s-style hard rock—it’s simply iconic.
