Description:
I’m often asked about truly CLEAN sound. Most amps don’t sound their best when they’re truly clean, with a few exceptions—like the Ampeg Gemini series and Deluxe Reverb. But exceptions prove the rule.
For most amps, it’s best to dial them in to their optimal level, where they start to “breathe,” and then simply reduce the signal level if you want CLEAN sound.
This amp was specifically designed to sound its best in clean mode. It’s the most powerful, clean, quiet, bold, and detailed clean sound I’ve ever heard, and that’s coming from someone who’s tried every Fender amp, small and large, as well as Two-Rocks, Matchless, Hiwatts, and more. This amp has incredible power reserves—it remains absolutely clean by tube guitar amp standards until about volume level 5, at which point it gets really loud, dynamic, responsive, very lively, and you hear a certain musical richness.
It’s a true Class A design, so the four 6L6 tubes produce “only” about 35-50 watts of power in both Class A and Class AB modes. Class AB mode alters the bias and increases the power, but it’s not a true Class AB mode.
This amp was custom-built by Felix Staniewicz and Martin Saulspurens, two geniuses who built the now-iconic Blue Microphone brand from the ground up, where Felix was the lead engineer.
This amp doesn’t produce beautiful overdrive—it only produces clean tones, but some of the best clean tones you’ll ever encounter. So, if you’re looking for truly clean tones, don’t pass this one up.
The kit includes 30 complete recordings, all of which were recorded through the amp’s built-in 12-inch Celestion Gold speaker.
