What’s new in Cubase 15:
Steinberg introduces an updated version of its popular software, offering a wide range of capabilities and an expanded set of functions.
The DAW boasts an improved Expression Maps feature, which boasts deeper integration with the Keymap and Score Editors, as well as improved performance realism thanks to articulation attack compensation. Furthermore, the Pattern Editor section now features a Pattern Sequencer—a step sequencer with monophonic and polyphonic modes—and the Modulators section has been expanded with six new modulators, including Random Generator, Sample & Hold, Wavefold LFO, and others. Cubase 15 comes with Stem Separation, which allows you to efficiently extract stems from mixed audio using modern AI-powered tools.
The software now features the UltraShaper dynamics processor plugin with transient shaping, limiting, and equalization features, as well as the Pitch Shifter plugin for creative and corrective pitch shifting in real time (with preservation of formants, saturation modes, stereo separation, and a range of ±24 semitones). All standard plugins in the updated DAW support graphical interface scaling, and additional content has been added for instruments such as Drum Machine and Writing Room Synths.
Other new features include: a collection of 40 modern drum kits providing ready-to-use beats for hip-hop, trap, and electronic music styles; Songstarter Packs – collections of loops and samples for any genre; an improved Hub (smoother project launch with resizable sections, audio customization, project preview, and tools for searching and filtering); Automation Shortcuts to automatically display and prioritize the last used parameter with a new keyboard shortcut (opens a simplified menu for quick access and editing); Omnivocal – a vocal synthesis tool (currently in beta); and much more.
Installation:
If you previously installed TEAM R2R Network Block Runtime, uninstall it! _ To uninstall, run unins000.exe in the C:\Program Files\TEAM R2R\Network Block Runtime folder.
Note: If Silk Emulator v1.5.0 and TEAM R2R System v1.4.2 are already installed , skip steps 1-3
- _ Install TEAM R2R System v1.4.2.exe
- _ Install Setup Steinberg Silk Emulator v1.5.0.exe
- _ Reboot the OS
Delete the previous version (recommendation from R2R, so it’s your discretion) - _ Install Steinberg Mediabay _ (This is necessary for the content browser to work. Without Mediabay , the content may be empty.)
- _ Install Cubase15.msi
- _ Place the Content folder in C:\ProgramData\Steinberg\
Note: R2R does not mention installing the R2RCA.cer certificate in the instructions, but it has been added to the distribution just in case.
