With its bright, penetrating tone, the piccolo trumpet is renowned for its clarity of sound and dazzling range, effortlessly cutting through mixes and soaring above orchestral textures. Perfectly recorded in the dense, controlled atmosphere of Silent Stage Studios, this instrument will bring its unique sparkle directly to your studio, ready to elevate your compositions with its unique, shimmering voice.
Rich History
The piccolo trumpet’s festive and expressive sound displays all the typical characteristics of a trumpet, although it is brighter and clearer than that of the C major trumpet. Today, the piccolo trumpet is used in orchestral music primarily when the trumpet part is consistently in a very high register, such as for Baroque clarinet parts in works by Bach and Handel.
Versatility and Expressiveness
The library contains a full range of expressive and dynamic articulations, offering various short and long notes, legato (including fast legato), crescendo and diminuendo, sfz, sffz, pfp, tongue tremolo, and semitone and whole-tone trills. Recording samples in relatively dry form on the Silent Stage allows you to place them anywhere in your virtual stage and stereo field, and integrate the instrument with the Synchron series using an internal convolution reverb that recreates our own Vienna Synchron Stage.
