Description: PolyM – T.O.D Oscillators ‘The Pleasure Principle’ Unique Features, Unique Sound:
Several factors were integral to creating the iconic sound of PolyM’s glorious ancestor: two T.O.D oscillators (upper octave dividers), with PER NOTE pulse-width modulation, originally used to achieve large polyphony (at the time), a harsh 24 dB ladder filter developed by Moog, an acoustic filter bank, and, finally, a rich A characterful resonator bank.

XILS-lab PolyM Review
Several factors played a significant role in creating the iconic sound of the PolyM’s glorious ancestor: two T.O.D. oscillators (upper octave dividers) with PER NOTE pulse-width modulation, originally used to achieve luxurious polyphony (at the time), a rugged 24 dB ladder filter developed by Moog, a bank of acoustic filters, and, finally, a characterful resonator bank.

We’ve uncovered parameters unavailable on the original instrument, allowing us to delve into the mechanism and modify it without a screwdriver, soldering iron, or electronic components. We’ve also added a more traditional analog VCA ADSR, a multitude of L.F.O.s for modulating virtually everything, and a trio of vintage-sounding effects, among other things. This device’s zero-latency, 24dB monophonic self-oscillating filter, retriggered by keyboard strikes, allows for enormous sounds unlike any other synthesizer (emulated by the PolyPedal). Original presets like “Vox Humana” are also on board, in addition to the Pleasure Principal.

71 Chips…: To take on the emulation challenge, it took over two years of painstakingly and patiently modeling these 71 components to ultimately create the best and most versatile Divided-down synthesizer ever created.

And not only that: we were able to identify parameters unavailable on the original device, allowing you to dive into the mechanism and modify it without a screwdriver, soldering iron, or electronic components. We also added a more traditional analog VCA ADSR, multiple LFOs for modulating virtually everything, and a trio of vintage-sounding effects, among other things. The use of down-splitting technology provides a unique sound for chords, strings, and pads that you won’t find in any other synthesizer.

More details: This device’s zero-latency, 24 dB monophonic self-oscillating filter, retriggered by keyboard strikes, gives you the ability to produce enormous sounds unlike any other synthesizer (emulating the behavior of a PolyPedal). Original presets like ‘Vox Humana’ are also included. Beyond the Pleasure Principle!
