Description : Chris Gehringer, senior mastering engineer and partner at Sterling Sound, was so impressed with the Sontec MES-432D9D from Metric Halo that when Rick Carson approached him about creating a signature plug-in, he was ready to get to work.

The result of this collaboration was CGII, a set of tools for mastering and refining dynamics.About the program
CGII features two complementary sections for improved dynamics, a new True Peak Limiting stage, DC lock, and dithering with LUFS/True Peak metering via elegant tube meters. All of this works with up to 16x oversampling (or without, depending on your preference).

The design prioritizes musical excellence and ease of use, as well as the ability to add effective volume, richness, and clarity without sacrificing spatial depth and emotional impact, as traditional dynamics processors often do.

Use CGII to make mastering louder without losing the clarity, richness, and power of the original mix. Even if you’re working with an already loud mix, you can make it even louder without adding unpleasant distortion, equalizing the material, or squeezing every last drop of low frequencies. At the same time, you can control the program’s true peak level to avoid overshooting between samples.

We’ve also added dithering, a DC block filter, and a full LUFS/True Peak meter so you can use CGII at the end of your main chain as a versatile finishing tool.
While the CGII was originally designed to make sound both good and loud, you’ll find it’s perfectly suited for a wide variety of mixing and processing tasks.
Use the Loudness processor to enhance harmonics. Use the Density processor to enhance highlights and improve clarity at low levels without affecting transients. Or simply apply the incredibly transparent True-Peak Lookahead limiter wherever you need it.

Key Features :
World-class signal processing and workflow.
User-selectable oversampling (up to 16x).
The density enhancement process effectively increases the perceived level of a program by revealing previously masked detail without sacrificing higher-level peak dynamics.
The loudness enhancement process provides a transparent increase in RMS level while keeping peak levels below the maximum value.
The peak limiter transparently controls output levels, ensuring that the peak level never exceeds the specified maximum value.
The DC block filter eliminates any residual DC offset.
Dither allows output bit depth to be changed from 16 to 24 bits.
Nixie Tubes display in decibels any user-selected meter value (integrated LUFS, short-term LUFS (or hold), instantaneous LUFS (or hold), true-peak, or true-peak hold).
Numerous presets included.
Adjustable user interface size.
MH Preset Manager – Provides cross-platform presets.
