Description : Sounds of China is an in-depth exploration of some of the most iconic, traditional Chinese woodwind and string instruments. In partnership with Lightship95 London-based recording studio, we bring you the first production in a long series of Noiiz Original.
This pack is dedicated to four traditional Chinese string instruments and three woodwinds (more properly “bamboo”), with loops from all seven instruments and single samples of Pipa, Yangqin, Hulusa and Xiao.

This pack is unlike any other in the Noiiz collection and when it comes to genres, the sky is the limit! Experiment with lush melodies from Pipa, fast melodies from Dizi, or maybe more refined instruments like the Yangqin.

Erhu 二胡: An expressive instrument that looks like a “two-stringed upright bowed lute”. This instrument is commonly used for both solo and orchestral performances in traditional classical Chinese music. The fluid nature of this instrument makes it melodious in some of the 35 loops in this pack.

Guqin 古琴: A seven-string instrument from the Zither family. Traditionally used by connoisseurs as an instrument of sophistication. Check out some fantastic harmonicas and subtle melodies from the “father of Chinese music”.

Pipa 琵琶: Chinese four-stringed instrument. This instrument is extremely popular and has been around for almost two thousand years. In modern times, it has been used by rock bands such as Incubus and guitarist Steve Vai. In this pack you will find a combination of tender and juicy loops contrasting with bouncy melodies and single samples.

Yangqin 扬琴: Hammer stringed dulcimer originating from Iran with 144 strings. Played with rubber-coated bamboo mallets, the instrument is often used in chords and arpeggios to add harmony to orchestras. Yangqin’s loops in this pack are full of beautiful harmonies and contain a mix of complex and simple rhythms. Single samples are made up of individual notes.

Dizi 笛子: A traditional bamboo flute used in Chinese folklore, opera, and modern orchestral pieces. Dizi Loops
use advanced techniques such as trills, circular breathing (to achieve a continuous sound), fast tongue, shooting notes and slides.

Hulusi 葫蘆絲: A wind instrument built with three bamboo pipes and a gourd chest. Hulusi’s loops are full of silky smooth tones perfect for creating unique texture for your project. Single samples are split into short and long versions for ease of management.

Xiao 箫: Another Chinese flute, often made from bamboo. Xiao’s single samples have been split into short and long versions for convenience. Packed with an extensive collection of warm and rich loops recorded in the key of G.
