Description:
The best guitars have their flaws.
RealTele is based on the guitar that started it all—the world’s first mass-produced solid-body electric guitar. Seven decades later, its sound remains instantly recognizable: bright, open, and expressive, with a distinctive “snap” and “bite” unmatched by any other. Muddy Waters brought it to the blues; Keith Richards made it a cornerstone of rock. That is the very character we sought to capture.
We recorded it as a living instrument—without cherry-picked takes or embellishment: string buzz, percussive attack, and the raw detail that distinguishes an instrument with history from one that merely sounds technically correct. Twelve velocity layers per fret. A middle-position tone captured as a genuine pickup interaction, rather than a sum of two digital signals. Every detail that separates a realistic sound from the real thing.
The two sides of the RealTele legend represent two distinct instruments based on a single iconic design—essentially, two guitars in one. One is crafted for airiness and distinctive tone, the other for focus and richness. Together, they cover the full spectrum of the instrument’s capabilities—from vintage shimmer to tight, modern drive.
RealTele Classic embodies the sound of the golden era: open, ringing highs, the signature “snap” of the bridge pickup, and slightly scooped mids that provide sonic clarity. It evokes country twang, Chicago blues, and the classic blues and rock ‘n’ roll of the 50s through the 70s—a sound that underpins half the history of popular music. Expressive and dynamic, it cuts through the mix with ease.
RealTele Modern is that same guitar, reimagined for modern production. The highs are smoother, the low-mids fuller, and the response tighter and more controlled, yet the instrument’s essential character remains intact. At high gain, the sound stays articulate and focused, while clean tones are rounder and more mellow. This version is designed for rock, pop, and heavier genres—ideal for parts that need to sit in a dense mix where focus takes precedence over openness.
