Does this version fix the white noise interruptions? Or is there a way to stop the plugin from connecting to the internet?
Block plugin update via firewall
@Michael Weaver – if you’re getting noise interruptions on any plugin you’ve installed from this site or similar sites, it means it didn’t work (you’re basically running a demo) and either something wasn’t installed correclty or as you mentioned, maybe the app is “calling out” via the web.
There is definitely a way to prevent plugins from connecting. If you’re on Mac, you will want to go to settings>screentime>content&privacy> then turn privacy restrictions “on” (limit adult websites = yes). Click on the customize button. You can then type in the web address for the website you’re looking to block by typing it into the restricted section. Also, make sure it’s not in the “allowed” list above.
For the apps/devs that are known to “call out” (using the web) to verify, there will usually be a note within the package you download which will give you the specific website to block. Most devs don’t call out so for the ones that do, you’ll usually see a note from the team that cracked it telling you you need to block it and the exact address to block. If you don’t have that specific address and you are confident you did everything else correctly, then you might try blocking fabfilter.com or doing a google search to see what specific site they use for call outs (sometimes there are more than 1). But first I would double check the file when re-installing to see if there is a note about blocking a specific site as well. (Since you’re going to have to start over by removing and installing again anyway if you’re getting static, you need to remove those plugins and start over).
Good luck. I’ve not tried this exact download but I have had success with the Fab Filter plugin bundle on this site or a similar site, so there are versions that are out there that work on Mac for sure.
Someone pls help. I downloaded, ran gatekeeper friendly, input password, installed everything, and then the plugins are nowhere to be found. Is my computer compromised??
