The library also contains over 600 unique oneshots, which are a real treasure trove for samplers (a MIDI sampler tool that allows you to break a sample into different parts and play them with an on-screen keyboard or MIDI keyboard) and hip-hop producers. The Recordings :
We went all out on recording this project as authentically as possible. Working in some of New York’s best studios, we captured the sounds of a classic studio orchestra using the tools and techniques of the era. A brief list of the coveted classic gear we used includes, original Neumann/Telefunken tube U47s (3), RCA 44 ribbon mics (3), RCA DX77 ribbon mics (2), Altec and Ampex tube mixers, Pultec EQs, and a Fairchild -style compressor.
The Mixes :
Each WAV loop is presented with two mix options: wet and dry. The Kontakt versions only contain the wet loops.
The WET samples are provided as they sound in the context of the complete mix, and have been rendered with any processing used to achieve the vintage authentic sound heard on the demos. The processing used may include extreme EQ, added harmonic distortion, tape effects, and additional reverb or other effects.
The DRY samples are provided with a somewhat more neutral sonic character. Any extreme effects or additional reverb has been removed or reduced to allow the user more freedom to customize the tone of the samples as they wish. Please bear in mind that the original raw recordings were intentionally made to sound vintage, so even the dry samples may still have a noticeable room tone, hiss, mic-bleed, or other “distressed-sounding” characteristics.
