Description : CMI V is the reincarnation of the first commercially available digital sep system in the history of music – a sound powerhouse behind many early megahits of the MTV era. We even went to the extra mile and added new creative opportunities that were not available in those days.
Thanks to the exotic new sound of digital samples, the promise of a universal digital workstation and physical design directly from a science fiction film, Fairlight CMI was the object of desire for most self-respecting “keyboardists” of the 80s. Countless musicians and producers have weighed the risk of bank robbery to afford it. Today there is no need for this. Our tool gives you the same as used by many MTV stars. We’ve even made a lot of improvements and additions that add extra power to this keyboard legend, including an alternative additive synthesis engine and lots of new modulation capabilities. The collection of vintage keyboards will not be completed without CMI V.
CMI V is not just a digital tool. This is a whole digital workstation. Our advanced emulation of this keyboard superhero allows you to work with 10 digital tools of your choice at once – mixing, layering, breaking and arranging them as you please. Each tool can be created by one of three different ways of generating sound.
The most obvious is the sampling mechanism, which literally was the first to determine this process in the industry. You can also generate sounds using additive synthesis, where you control each of the component harmonics over time. You also get about 300 professional presets that will help you get started, including the original library of sounds that you will learn in countless hits.
There are a million ways to form sounds with CMI. Work with the sample from the included library or upload your own. Specify the start and end points for the sample and loop. Apply several effects. Resece the sample with additive synthesis. Create custom envelopes to control harmonics in time. Change the sinusoidal waves that make up these harmonics into more complex shapes. Add a few customizable modules to almost any audio parameters you can only think about. Gosh, turn these modified harmonics back into the sample and form the sound again.
CMI V provides you with unlimited possibilities for creativity and sound variety, completely unique to this legendary workstation of sound design. This sound is heard all over the world. You know the sound of CMI, because it sounded everywhere. Now you can survive the glory of MTV.
