Description:
This amp is the king of the GBSN GA line, the largest in size and volume. It has two channels. The first channel is thick and rich, sometimes too powerful for guitar, but it works great with effects pedals. The second channel is optimal for guitar connected directly to the amp. It has the typical GBSN dark character with a sharp, but never harsh, crunch.
Since it’s a bit “dark,” the set includes recordings with the EQ adjusted before the amp to boost the highs.
We also recommend exploring the ToneX EQ with darker recordings—feel free to boost the highs or cut the lows to suit your taste, and you’ll find these sounds perfectly suited to your guitar.
This amp is designed for crunch and bass, and it doesn’t have truly clean tones, but the clean tones with a slight edge are excellent—it has a very unique character. Even at relatively clean settings, the amp compresses the signal heavily, producing a soft, warm, and rich “clean” tone unlike anything else.
If you want truly clean tones, I recommend reducing the input gain on the pedal or in the software, as the amp doesn’t sound very good when set to truly clean tones—it’s barely on (about 0.5 volume).
Recording was done through the Jensen P12R’s built-in speaker, using two Royer R121, one Beyerdynamic M160, and one Neumann U87 microphones. Content
