Steinberg is introducing a new version of its dedicated software for real-time multi-track recording. Live 3 is said to offer faster workflows and higher-quality recording with flexible parameters.
The software features a more advanced audio engine, aligned with the latest generation of DAWs like Cubase and Nuendo, and a redesigned user interface with HiDPi support. Furthermore, the new software boasts full integration with Apple processors (M1/M2) and a modernized project template wizard, allowing setups from the same artist to be easily saved as a project and used as a template for subsequent performances without the need to save them in a separate template format.
Installation:
If you previously installed TEAM R2R Network Block Runtime, uninstall it! To uninstall, run unins000.exe in the C:\Program Files\TEAM R2R\Network Block Runtime folder.
Note: If Silk Emulator v1.5.0 and TEAM R2R System v1.4.2 are already installed, skip steps 1-3.
- Install TEAM R2R System v1.4.2.exe
- Install Setup Steinberg Silk Emulator v1.5.0.exe
- Restart the OS
Uninstall the previous version (this is a recommendation from R2R, so it’s up to you) - Install VST_Livei.msi
- Install VST Viewer (if required)
- Install Steinberg built-in ASIO Driver (if required)
Note:
R2R doesn’t mention installing the R2RCA.cer certificate in the instructions, but it’s included in the distribution just in case.
