The professional audio software manufacturer iZotope presents the fifth version of the Neutron plug-in.

The company announced the release of the updated iZotope Neutron 5 plug-in on its official website. The fifth version of the development will offer 11 effects for working with an audio signal and an improved automatic sound processing assistant.
Neutron 5 comes with new modules and modes, as well as an updated “smart” music mixing assistant. The plugin also received a redesigned interface “with a neater and clearer metering section.”
The plugin now features a Clipper module, which can “squeeze maximum energy” out of any signal. The Clipper operates in multiband mode and can act as both a soft clipper and a hard clipper.
Neutron 5 itself also has two operating modes: Transient/Sustain and Mid/Side. The first allows you to interact with transients or the body of the sound, the second – to process the central and side channels. The modes work not only globally, but also for each module separately: for example, you can process only transients with the clipper, and only sustain with the equalizer.
Another module that appeared in the fifth version of the product is Density. According to the developers’ description, the effect is “a precise compressor for controlling signal dynamics” that allows you to achieve a fuller and more detailed sound. In addition, the plug-in has a Phase module for “analyzing and optimizing phase relationships in a mix.”
The “smart” Mix Assistant has received more convenient control with the ability to create a customized processing chain. The assistant also acquired macro control options for “refining the results” of work and interacting with instrument profiles. The latter will allow you to specify the assistant’s behavior when working with specific signal sources.
Another important innovation, the developers say, is the appearance of Delta keys in each module of the plugin. Pressing the button isolates the signal within a specific module, thanks to which users “hear what exactly is happening with the sound at each stage of processing.”
In addition, the changes affected the appearance of the plugin and the metering section. The interface became cleaner and simpler, and the metering became larger and clearer. According to the developers, the changes will make working with Neutron 5 more comfortable and efficient.
