Developed in collaboration with legendary, award-winning composer Hans Zimmer, The Legend HZ continues the legacy of its predecessor, The Legend.
The result of this collaboration is a software synthesizer with analog modeling that is ideal for use in modern film and music production.
Most importantly, it retains this characteristic, faithfully reproducing the sonic characteristics of the original hardware.

Legend HZ was designed with meticulous care and attention to detail, taking every opportunity to create a software synthesizer that is both incredibly easy to use and incredibly versatile. At its core, it combines the expertise of a genre-defining composer with Synapse Audio’s experience emulating an industry-defining synthesizer.
Building on the success of The Legend, we teamed up with Hans Zimmer to break new ground in analog modeling synthesis. The Legend HZ adds numerous features previously unavailable in The Legend. These include three additional oscillators (and, with them, additional polyphony control), a modulation matrix, a 32-step sequencer, an MSEG for modulation control, and an expanded effects section.
The Legend HZ even includes a fixed filter bank, modeled after Hans Zimmer’s personal Vintage 914 fixed filter bank, a unique and rare device.
Additionally, 200 factory presets have been added, developed jointly by experienced sound designer Kevin Schroeder and Hans Zimmer. The factory sound bank provides access to a wide range of cinematic-style sounds, and the Legend HZ itself provides access to some of the instruments used in it.
What’s new in 2.1.0:
(10 April 2026) We have updated The Legend HZ to version 2.1.
The main innovation is a paragraph EQ on the rear panel, offering more options for shaping the tone directly on the instrument. The compressor section has also been updated with a new saturation function, adding warmth and character to the final result.
For users working with alternative tuning systems, the updated version adds support for microtuning via MTS-ESP, opening The Legend HZ to a wider range of musical styles and experimental workflows.
Rounding out the update are 50 new factory presets, created by professional sound engineer Kevin Schroeder, ready to use right out of the box!
INSTALLATION:
- Before installing, uninstall all previous versions!
(If you have your own custom or third-party presets, be sure to save them first.) - Install
- Do not close the activation window.
- Open the keygen.
- In the keygen, select “The Legend HZ” and paste the serial number into the activation window.
- Click “Offline Activation.”
- Paste the response code you received into the keygen.
- Click “Generate” and paste the response code you received into the activation window.
- Install TLHZ_Unpacked_Factory_Presets_2.0.0.exe
Note:
If you encounter the same issue as in the “MOCHA_X01.jpg” file, try again, starting with step (3). This should work with “MOCHA_Keygen + Activation.”
Or try activating by opening the plugin in your DAW.
