Description: Put on your sunglasses and hop aboard the time machine as the Stratum takes you into a wormhole and into the futuristic soundscapes of the 80s. By combining fat, sweeping supersaw oscillators with a classic, rich-sounding FM engine, we’ve combined synth technologies from different eras to give you the SOUND of the future from the past.
Stratum gives you everything you need to create tracks in a variety of genres inspired by retro, be it synthwave, retrowave, outran, cinematic electronics, 8-bit chiptunes, etc. These voices are rapidly gaining popularity, and if you want to keep up with the wave, pay attention to Stratum. The tool will also prove useful in techno, trance, lo-fi, hip-hop and EDM, bringing a blast from the past to your tracks.
Originally famed for the Roland JP-8000, the Supersaw has made a steady return to the trance and hardcore genres with its punchy sound, especially in synth solos and synth bass. The Stratum takes this classic waveform a step further by combining this classic waveform with a 4-operator FM synthesizer, noise generator and sub-generator to create a virtual instrument perfect for modern synthwave, vaporwave and retro electronic production like those found in recent the series “Stranger Things” and the movie “Synchronicity OST”.
The Stratum also features two low-pass filters, a vocal formant filter and tube distortion to further enhance your sounds, all controlled by a simple modulation matrix consisting of 4 LFOs with modulation wheel control and an 8-step sequencer called Stepper. For those who need to punish their sounds even more, the Stratum includes a unique XY pad that can mix Bit Crusher, Dirty Phaser, Wah Wah and Non-Linear Delay effects.
Arpeggio enthusiasts will be happy to see not one, but TWO arpeggiators, one for the Supersaw synthesizer and one for the FM synthesizer. In addition, Stratum includes built-in Chorus, Phaser, Delay and Reverb effects to add a final sparkle to your sounds and tracks.
