Monosole Music presents the fifth installment in its series of royalty-free drum hits and breaks. These were recorded directly to tape, mixed using analog outboard gear, mastered onto 12-inch dubplates, and finally sampled from vinyl. Volume 5 contains 40 original 1970s Afrobeat-inspired drum breaks, ranging from 80 to 133 BPM and up to 8 bars in length. Recorded directly to analog tape using an overhead mic, a kick drum mic, and a mic for each percussion element, the individual microphone stems are included alongside the vinyl master versions, resulting in a total of 193 loops. They were mixed using analog compressors, EQs, and spring reverb before being sent to a Neumann lathe for cutting.
