Description:
Hybrid FM Synthesizer
Features six oscillators per voice with FM sources, additive sources, and wavetables; includes two multi-mode filters, envelopes, an FM routing matrix, a step sequencer, and four effect slots.
Overview:
The engine: Sources are blended within a single voiceβfor instance, a pair of frequency modulators can sit alongside a drawn spectrum, with both passing through the same filters and envelopes.
Six Oscillators, Full FM Routing Matrix
Each voice utilizes six oscillators. Sources can be chosen from built-in waveforms or one of six wavetables, which you can draw in the additive editor or create from WAV files. Any oscillator can frequency-modulate any other (including itself), with options for exponential or linear scaling; additionally, two ring modulators can take any combination of oscillators as input. Each generator is equipped with its own waveshaper.
Two filters, 26 modes
Low-pass, high-pass, band-pass, and band-reject (notch) filters with slopes of 12, 24, and 36 dB per octave; three analog-modeled low-pass and high-pass filters; as well as comb, band-pass, diode, transistor-ladder, Sallen-Key, and SEM-style filters. Each oscillator can route its signal to Filter 1, Filter 2, and/or the dry bus in any desired mix. Filters can be routed into one another, and each filter circuit includes an integrated waveshaper.
Draw-your-own envelopes
Thirty-one envelopes in total: controlling level, waveform, pitch, and phase for each oscillator; cutoff, resonance, and waveform for each filter; plus a global pitch envelope. Each envelope supports up to 128 segments, with adjustable curvature, loop regions, and tempo synchronization. Dedicated curves are provided for keyboard tracking, velocity sensitivity, and aftertouch.
Effects
Four effect slots featuring 24 different types: two delays, six choruses, three ensembles, a flanger, a quad-phaser, four reverbs, a granulator, “CrazyComb,” auto-pan, rotary speaker, ring modulation, overdrive, and a three-band equalizer.
