Sounds: Louder, higher tones tend to be more emotionally captivating than low, quieter sounds. The transition between low and high leads to self-excitation of the sound. The low sound, rising quickly, gives you a sense of approaching danger and is suitable for voicing scenes of a storm, trains, or a stampede. In most cases, the rising sounds will instantly get your adrenaline pumping! What’s important for composers and producers is that the build-ups are captivating, and if they’re noisy enough and not too loud in the mix, they add excitement with enough subtlety to add a great hidden nuance. Conversely, loud ones can create amazing crescendos.
Creating rich rising sounds can be time consuming and complex, SCULPTOR Epic Risers does all the hard work, leaving you time to experiment. Each sound has basic rising elements and a trailing tail element. Each of them consists of two sounds, which allows you to add spectral complexity and variety to the sound. Mix and match different sounds, change their level, randomize, change the length of the rise, the pitch, apply the equalizer, envelope shapes, filters and send effects (delay and reverb). The presets are organized into eight folders to quickly find the type of sound you need – Clean, Hyped, Dark, Vast, Mod Gate, Mod Crunch, Dead Stops and Velocity Control. There is also a selection of presets courtesy of some of our composer friends.
Interface: Immerse yourself in a universe of sonic possibilities in an easy-to-use interface… Mix and match different sounds in the four RISE & TAIL menu windows and control the balance to get clear, identifiable sound. Use the SHAPE knob to change attack and decay from slow to fast depending on your context. Control the amount of pitch change as it rises with the DEPTH knob. Synchronized with your sequencer tempo, the RISE TIME buttons control the time (in measures) since the key was pressed. Click the RANDOM button for the creative. There will be endless possibilities! Want to amplify your sound? The SUPER button creates a width effect, adding depth and power to your rise. Use it with care!
Master FX Page: This page provides global effects that will affect every sound currently loaded. Includes three insert effects (drive, compressor, and filter), two send effects (reverb and delay), and a rhythm gate where you can control the speed, depth, pan, and width of the sound.
