Description : Expressive E Imagine is a physically modeled synthesizer developed in collaboration with Applied Acoustic Systems (AAS) to generate unique, organic, and original acoustic sounds. It allows users to combine resonant bodies—such as tubes, bars, membranes, and strings—with three excitation types: hammer, noise, or sequenced arpeggiators, creating entirely new, ethereal instruments.

Each preset uses two layers of instruments, each independently configurable with parameters tailored to the type of excitation:

Hammer-type instruments allow you to control shine, mute, position (hit point), and strike (hammer material).

Noise-type instruments have parameters such as color, resonance, grain, LFO shape/speed/amount, and a dedicated ADSR.

Sequence-type instruments use dual arpeggiators with 16-step grids, allowing you to create rhythmic patterns, chord modes, and dynamically switch between sequences using the Arp Select parameter.

The plugin features a powerful modulation system with four macro knobs and an MSEG (Multi-Stage Envelope Generator), providing expressive control over numerous parameters in real time. The extensive effects section includes vibrato/frequency shift, two expressive effects modules (with options such as distortion, phaser, chorus, and ring modulation), a slope EQ, a compressor, a stereo delay, and a plate reverb.

With over 400 factory presets, 150 arpeggiator presets, and 200 MSEG presets, Imagine offers a vast sonic palette—from ethereal pads and evolving textures to rhythmic, glitchy basslines and experimental soundscapes. It supports MPE, DAW automation, and MIDI Learn with intuitive visual mapping.

Despite a steep learning curve and a dark, minimalist interface, Imagine is highly regarded for its sonic creativity, expressive depth, and unique approach to physical modeling, making it a standout tool for electronic music engineers and producers seeking fresh, organic textures.
