Magenta 5 follows a line of high-end tube processors handcrafted in the USA. It works wonders with single sources such as drums, percussion, guitars, analog synths, bass and vocals, but also functions as an ideal mastering processor. Magenta’s intuitive controls let you choose the perfect “color” for your mix, from hard compression to velvety EQ and tone correction, resulting in a multi-dimensional experience your ears will thank you for.

The tube equalizer we sampled for this fantastic set of plugins costs over €6,500. Luckily for you, you don’t have to spend money on expensive equipment – the Magenta 5 equalizer perfectly captures even the most complex nuances of the original device’s holographic stereo image. Now you can have both stereo and mono versions of this impeccable piece of equipment for less.
Best of Compression
Magenta includes two different compressors, each faithfully replicating the original unit and including 4 switchable compressor emulations (B, C1, C2, D1, D2) to provide complete dynamic control.
Comp B combines both Vari-Mu and an optical compressor in one dynamics processor. The C1 is a complete Vari-Mu compressor: Handle with care!
While the Vari-Mu compressor mode has a “soft knee” starting at a ratio of 1:5:1, the C2 mode’s sharper “limit” knee starts at 4:1 and moves to a more dramatic 20:1 ratio when limiting over 12 dB. While it sounds counter-intuitive, pressing the button harder actually softens the knee.
The D1 is an optical limiter/compressor emulation, while the D2 is FET compression, offering much faster attack and release times.
Harmonic extravaganza
Our unique approach to sampling individual preamps allows you to add tons of harmonics to your mixes. Play around with the “input trim” control on the Magenta preamp module and enjoy the great effect that master preamp has on your recorded tracks.
