The contrabass tuba produces an incredibly deep and richly resonant sound, providing a rich bass foundation for any composition. Its heavy, majestic sound is earthy, dazzling in all registers, with a unique timbre that is rounder and darker than that of the bass tuba and less metallic than that of the bass or double bass trombone. All these tonal qualities have been meticulously captured on our custom-built “Silent Stage,” with its tight and controlled acoustics, ensuring unrivaled clarity and authenticity.

Thunderous Double Bass

Providing a resonance unmatched by any other brass instrument, the double bass tuba produces the deepest and richest tones in its category – ideal for musical situations where powerful brass parts are needed to give the musical mood you want to create for your audience the necessary foundation and weight.

Majestic Depth

With its enormous range, the double bass tuba is a cornerstone of orchestral music. It can provide rhythmic depth and also excels in solo contexts. Frequently used in film music, the double bass tuba is beloved for its powerful low range, making it an indispensable tool in your soundtrack arsenal.

Versatility and Expression

The library includes a full set of expressive and dynamic articulations, offering various short and long notes, legato (including fast legato), crescendo and diminuendo, sfz, sffz, pfp, tongue tremolo, and semitone and whole-tone trills. Basic playing techniques are also available in a muted version. Recording samples in a relatively dry form on the Silent Stage allows you to place them anywhere in your virtual stage and stereo field, and integrate the instrument with the Synchron series using an internal convolution reverb that recreates our own Vienna Synchron Stage.

• Double bass tuba, regular and muted
• Short and long notes, legato, dynamics, trills, repeats, tongue tremolo
• Recorded on Silent Stage
• Mixer presets for authentic placement on Vienna Synchron Stage
