Description: Multitrack of the beautiful song Eclipse of the Heart by Bonnie Tyler.
Bonnie Tyler (born Gaynor Hopkins, June 8, 1951, Skewen, Wales, UK) is a British rock singer whose most commercially successful recording, Total Eclipse of the Heart (1983), topped the US Billboard Hot 100 for four weeks.
Biography
She was born in the town of Skewen in South Wales. In addition to her, there were five more children in the family. She was fond of music since childhood and, after winning a competition for young performers, joined the youth group “Bobby Wayne and the Dexies”. Soon she created her own group and, taking the pseudonym “Bonnie Tyler”, began performing in various clubs in her native Wales.
In 1976, Ronnie Scott and Steve Wolfe became the singer’s managers, songwriters and producers. First single with new producers “Lost In France” reached number 9 in the UK charts by November 1976. The next single, “More Than A Lover”, reached number 27 in the spring of 1977. In 1977, due to nodular thickenings, Bonnie underwent laryngeal surgery, after which doctors strictly recommended that she not speak for a month and a half. However, one day, in a fit of despair, Bonnie allowed herself to scream, as a result of which her voice acquired a slight hoarseness. At first, the singer decided that this would lead to the end of her vocal career, but unexpectedly for her, the single “It’s A Heartache” reached number three in the US and number four in England in June 1978, and the album of the same name brought Tyler her first gold disc. The next seven singles were not so successful. In 1983, the singer’s contract with RCA Records expired, and the company did not renew the agreement. In 1990, Tyler moved to Europe and settled in Germany, signing a contract with the company “Hansa”. Her producer and author of many songs was the famous German composer and performer Dieter Bohlen. With his help, Bonnie Tyler, having released the album “Bitterblue”, which sold out in huge numbers, again gained huge worldwide popularity. After leaving Dieter Bohlen, Bonnie decided to continue her career without his help, releasing a new album. Bonnie spent a lot of money to record it, including inviting a huge orchestra. The album was a failure – about two thousand copies were sold.
