About the artist :The Two Steps from Hell team only at first glance looks like an inexperienced newcomer to the trailer music scene. Yes, it was founded in February 2006, but it already has more than a dozen albums to its credit.
Its founders and composers are Thomas Bergersen (Mistre Birgirson) and Nick Phoenix. The former wrote music for radio and television for a long time, and made arrangements for feature films (“Garfield 1-2”, “A Cinderella Story”). The second worked in another trailer music group – Music Junkies, and last year he recorded the album “300 Years Later” together with famous electronic engineers BT. And if Bergensen specializes in orchestration, symphonic music and choir, then Phoenix clearly gravitates more towards electronics, guitar rock and industrial music. It seems that it is in the combination of their passions that the secret of the success of their joint work is hidden.
Like most bands in this genre, Two Steps from Hell does not sell their music to ordinary listeners. However, in two years they have managed to gain such popularity that they can no longer ignore the wishes of numerous fans and promise to release a collection of their best things for wide sale.
Two Steps from Hell album covers are traditionally designed by artist Steven Gilmore. He also designed CDs for Iggy Pop, BT, Nickelback, Public Enemy, Static-X and the Collector’s Edition of the Lord of the Rings soundtrack. Remember the Mortal Kombat posters with the cracked dragon? This is also Gilmour’s work.
