Description: Beautifully played clean and textured violin bowed instrument with synchronized BPM wheel speed control – play a note and move the modulation wheel to make the bow move faster or slower. Press the keyboard to increase the volume, controlled by aftertouch.
The development process of STRINGPOOL meant that virtuoso violinist Sophia Bartlett had to endure many agonizing days of painful sampling.
While I calmly sipped my coffee, Sophia spent hours beautifully extracting lyrical notes with a long bow from her 200-year-old instrument. Each note has four different velocities with a touch of vibrato. She sincerely suffered for our art. From these hours of recording I have created hundreds of seamless, clean loops and an alternative set of “processed” samples distorted by tape and lamps. It was then packaged into the complex Kontakt engine, with a simple interface and a wealth of expressive possibilities.
