Description: The MS10 is a single oscillator, semi-modular synthesizer developed in the 1970s. Originally created to offer basic synthesis (like making scary ghost sounds), the MS10 has become something of a cult favorite in the synthesis world due to its minimal yet vibrant modulation and filter characteristics.
Users can easily use the classic patches: round bottom, sharp highs, creamy PWM, screaming leads and percussion that the package contains. Combine a few other patches and the synth will easily lend itself to more advanced sound sculpting and experimentation.
With one oscillator, one envelope, one filter, etc., the MS-10 still leads the way. Its simplicity allows for a less obstructed signal path than its two-oscillator MS-20 brother. Sit between them, signal the same single oscillator on each and you will almost always prefer the MS-10. Its oscillator is somehow slightly cleaner and less phased than the 20’s.
