Description: Digitar – the world’s first MIDI guitar from Casio can now be part of your studio. Dig into the soundbank of the DG series and have your session with one of the strangest musical inventions of the 80s.
The music technology of the 80s ran the gamut from revolutionary digital synthesis to more experimental efforts. Casio’s digital guitar falls into the latter category, and while it’s an unusual piece of musical fiction, we think it’s cool and unique enough to make a sound package.
Casio Digital Guitar is a string guitar that translates the performance to the on-board computer and plays the selected sound.
Puremagnetik sampled all of the on-board sounds and also took Digital Guitar’s resources one step further by using the device for more complex programs.

Anyone interested in the Casio MIDI guitar should check out Stanley Jordan……. phenomenal guitarist, plays the fretboard like it’s a keyboard. Plenty of his stuff on youtube. There was a guitarist in Washington, DC that played the Casio guitar, had really amazing patches. I’ve wished to find the real axe at an affordable price. I have a Sonuus i2m guitar audio —–> MIDI/USB unit…… blazing fast tracking, can play VST’s with absolutely no lag with my Strat. This might be the ticket to the real Casio 🙂
