PSP McQ reproduces the sound and functionality of classic console equalizers, drawing inspiration from the versatile EQ sections found in MCI consoles. While remaining faithful to the analog classic, PSP McQ expands upon the original concepts with a range of modern features, including adjustable high-pass and low-pass filters, resonance controls for band filters, optional bell modes for low and high frequencies, and three Q-factor settings for the mid-frequency filters.
PSP McQ boasts a host of musical features, including gain-dependent Q for the bell-shaped mid-frequency filters. Its flexible design makes it equally useful for detailed track processing and for enhancing separation and clarity within a mix.
The output section also incorporates our second-generation SAT(uration) algorithm. It helps protect against digital clipping in downstream software or hardware while adding smooth, analog-style overdrive when the signal is boosted. The saturation stage is positioned after the output level control in PSP McQ’s internal signal path, with its ceiling set just below 0 dBFS.
