Description : Are you tired of using the same old distortion pedal plugins? Do you have a place to experiment? It’s time to get to know Indent 2. With just a few settings, you can use this handy distortion toolkit to get the sound you want in seconds. But do not be deceived by its simplicity; Inside this small package is a universal tool for generating waves with at least ten unique clipping algorithms. It’s like a whole bunch of distortion plugins in one package.
While the Indent 2 will feel right at home on your guitar tracks, it is much more than an overload pedal. You can put it on almost any track or group to add a subtle flavor or strike your senses with a burst of delightful harmonics. With such a diverse clipping style, it can be your plugin for the final touches, experimental effects and more.
The signal path in Indent 2 consists of a customizable multi-mode filter located between two different clipping states, each of which offers ten different distortion modes selected by the user: Hard Clip, Soft Clip, Wavefold, Overfold, Harsh Fold, Distortion, Tube, Tape, Gloubi , and Cubic.
The inclusion of a filter in the plug-in’s internal signal path significantly expands its versatility, so it is easy to adapt it to a wide range of wave formation tasks. Add a modulated resonant high-pass filter after the first clipping stage to get old-school techno sound on a synthetic bass track, then set the second clipping level to “Wavefold” to smooth the signal and add some harmonics that have been smoothed by the filter.
Experimenting a bit, you will find that Indent 2 can bring a virtually infinite range of tones and emotions for any genre. Enhancing the gain with Wavefold’s clipping style can be a great way to add an aggressive, punk rock tone to the vocal track, but return the gain back and set the style to Tube, and now your vocal tracks have a presence and close feeling that is perfect for a ballad. Having trouble getting your synthetic bass to cut through the mix? Try using “Soft Clip” with a resonant high-pass filter. You will be amazed at how much distortion your mix can make.
And the best part: almost all the parameters of Indent 2 can be modulated using the Unfiltered Audio unique and intuitive modulation system. Simply assign a parameter with a virtual patch cable, and then select one of eight different modulators, including an LFO, a randomizer, and even a user-programmable step sequencer. The classic effects of tremolo with tempo timing and wow wow are just the beginning. Modulate the input gain of the drum using the envelope so that the blows explode and the microphone bleed – or reduce the blows to a fraction of a second. Set the filter mode to Band Reject and modulate the frequency with a time-synchronized sinusoidal LFO to get the Leslie effect on the guitar track; then apply a step sequencer to the sine so that Leslie pulses with syncopated rhythms. And yes – you can apply modulators to other modulators!
You still lack control? Check out one of the newest additions to the Unfiltered Audio modulation section: the ROLI Lightpad modulator. With unfiltered seamless integration with the latest ROLI controller, you can use simple gesture controls to modulate Indent 2 parameters in real time. Using Lightpad’s unique 3D interface, you can easily modulate several parameters or even modulate other modulators. Apply the X and Y axes to the Cutoff and Resonance parameters of the filter to “draw” the filter envelopes on the Lightpad surface, and use finger pressure to control the resonance. Ideal for assembling a portable live installation.
With the Indent 2, turning multiple knobs can create new and exciting sounds that make your pieces sound fresh and modern. This is one small package that is full of tones.
