KNOWN ISSUES :
KNOWN ISSUE Arrow keys do not work in the Default View sidebar in some VST3 DAWs on Windows (Live, Cubase, Studio One).
KNOWN ISSUE New Kontakt related file types (NKL, NKT) do not open when launching Kontakt via double clicking these files in OSs Finder/Explorer.
FAMILIAR ISSUE On macOS, entering space to start/stop playback only reaches the DAW on the second press if the Kontakt plugin is moved via D&D.
How to install, questions, etc…
1) Run Kontakt 8 8.1.0 Setup on your computer.
2) Disable your antivirus and unpack Kontakt 8 Insiders’ Developers’ Edition Patch.7z, then run as administrator.
How to add a library?
After successful registration of Kontakt, you can add the library with ” Kontakt_Button ” to the folder ” C:\Program Files\Native Instruments\Kontakt 8 ”
If this utility is missing, it may have been blacklisted by your antivirus or Kontakt has not registered properly.
Can I install the latest version of Kontakt 8 over the previous version of Kontakt (bobdule) ?
YES! You can, just make sure you use the same location (default).
Can Kontakt 6/7 or Kontakt 8 work side by side ?
Yes! You can install both versions without any conflicts.
How to make Kontakt 8 look like classic Kontakt 6 ? in VIEW
menu , change Single View/Rack View, press LIBRARY for New/Old Library View. To save the settings permanently, press ” Set view Settings as default ” from VIEW menu.
