Driven by an insatiable passion for rhythm, session drummer Matt Butlin has amassed an enormous collection of drums. This pack contains over 500 one-shot samples that showcase the breadth of his collection—including 10 different cymbals, both raw and processed kicks, over 30 toms, and… 30 distinct snare drums! This amounts to more than 200 individual snare samples, each with its own unique dynamics and timbre, lovingly recorded in 24-bit quality using close-miking techniques.
The snare selection includes jungle, maple, brass, acrylic, and even stone-shelled drums. We’ve captured hits at various velocities, along with essentials like rimshots, stick-on-stick hits, and rolls. The cymbal collection covers bells, chinas, hi-hats, rides, crashes, and splashes. The kicks are provided in both raw (live) and processed versions, with three distinct “live” variations and several different miking/processing approaches. Great care was taken in recording these magnificent instruments, using top-tier microphones routed through Neve preamps and high-quality digital converters into Pro Tools HD—delivering that signature studio polish. In addition to the WAV samples, 15 sampler patches are included, allowing you to program your perfect drum setup!
