What it does: Models data compression algorithms (similar to MP3s, internet streams, or early mobile networks) and degrades audio quality by introducing characteristic artifacts. Version 2.1 features an advanced Regen function (an internal delay loop for extreme sonic destruction) and sidechain modulation support.
Use case: Functions as a creative lo-fi bitcrusher. It helps simulate the sound of vintage internet audio or compressed voice tags, or adds a distinctive “glassy” digital noise texture. -
Eigen (v1.4.0) — Spatial room simulator
What it does: Simulates room acoustics with precise control over early reflections and spatial geometry. Current versions support Ambisonics audio for an immersive experience.
Use case: Allows you to seat an instrument in the mix and add realistic depth, or conversely, create a claustrophobically small, resonant room. Works well on drums, guitars, and vocals to impart a “live” feel. -
