Description : Cuatro is a plucked instrument of the guitar family
The Cuatro is a traditional instrument of Venezuela. It has four strings and a small shaped guitar body.
The Cuatro for Kontakt contains 12 articulations and many modes for experimentation. Built for the full version of Kontakt 5.6.0 or higher, it delivers a refined sound experience brimming with authenticity.
The sampling used was a superb long neck cuatro (17 frets) from Barquisimeto, Venezuela. It has been used for over 15 years in many film and television tracks, as well as in music production.
The Cuatro has been carefully sampled to capture its authentic timbre. Each note has 4 dynamics with 4 cycles per dynamics, for a total of 16 samples per note. In addition to chords, mutes and many other articulations, additional modes have been created: Octave, Double Cuatro and Andean Tuning. These modes give you a fresh palette to create spacious, rich-sounding arrangements for ensembles or solo pieces.
Krystalos Audio technology was used during all stages of recording. Krystalos Audio optimizers have been developed to produce organic and detailed analog audio using the latest digital equipment.
The Cuatro is a comprehensive collection of single instrument samples that are easy to play and recognizable. It has almost everything you could need to give your compositions a bit of South American flair.
The Cuatro will change the way you approach your music and inspire you to create beautiful harmonic progressions and melodies. Enjoy!
Detailed information :
The creator of The Ronroco and The Bandoneón , film composer Guillermo Guareschi, surprises us with new sampling and scripting techniques. The Cuatro was recorded in his new studio in the Sierras of the Spanish Mediterranean, where he achieved significant improvements in sound.
Guillermo Guareschi wrote:
As a film composer and music producer, I designed The Cuatro using the mechanisms necessary for intuitive creativity and with minimal training required to grasp the idiomatic language of the instrument.
In addition to being a powerful tool for creating authentic South American music, The Cuatro is perfectly suited to modern productions such as pop, chill-out, folk music, film scores and other genres. Thanks to its open, organic sound, it can easily use effects such as reverb, EQ, delay, chorus, phaser and anything else you can think of.
