Description: Having released Dominus Choir two years ago, we already wanted to enrich it with new features. Among them is the ability to sing in English and add marcato and staccato articulations. By now, we can say that we have successfully completed the task.
This time, Paolo had a perfect picture in his head of what a choir library should be like – he knew exactly how to achieve the best result; Mario Lanaro, from his first sampling experience, had by then become a real sampling machine, with his confident stance and attention to detail, always striving to bring out the best of the singers and the choir itself, with the perfect combination of experience in all the complexities of sampling and the excitement of a new challenge.
From the very beginning with Dominus Choir Pro, we paid special attention to creating exactly the same recording setups as in Dominus Choir. Moreover, the recording days were enriched by the huge support of Simone Mor and Matteo Melchiori. Once again, many thanks to the two conductors of the wonderful choirs that we have sampled, Mrs. José Borgo and Mr. Maurizio Sacchiana, La Rose Female Vocal Ensemble and Novecento Vocal Ensemble; to our dear Pietro Pasquini, Mario Lanaro and all the people who once again supported us during these years.
…What else? You can just say that Dominus Choir Pro literally “speaks” or it’s correct to say “sings”!
Although of noble origin, the choice of the name “Dominus” was actually inspired by dominoes, a popular game that dates back to the 13th century (China) and which spread to Europe five centuries later.
In fact, the way the tool engine works is reminiscent of this ancient game. In dominoes, you connect different dice according to their value. The Dominus chorus uses an engine that intelligently connects different syllables with vowels that precede and follow consonants. Vowels are the glue that holds words together. This system not only keeps the musicality and realism of the original words intact, but also gives the user full control over the duration of each part of the words created with the word editor.
The same system works flawlessly in the Dominus Choir Pro score, taking care of smooth transitions between different syllables. In addition to that, Dominus has beautiful true-legato transitions for all the vowels in the library, capable of handling movements from the softest to the strongest dynamics, and an intuitive polylegato engine that just works as it should.
