Description : The “Cello Textures” tool by Ben Osterhaus is an elaborate platform for expressive cello articulations.
If you’re looking for inspiring string sounds to add splashes of color and realism to your music, this is the tool for you!
Multiple articulations and playing styles – “Cello Textures” uses a visually stimulating GUI inspired by Spitfire’s “Evo” series of instruments, using only shapes and arrows to indicate articulation type and performance parameters.
Articulations and Effects – Four cello articulations: Staccato, Accent, Dramatic Swell and Slow Swell. Each articulation is recorded with 3 different tonal qualities (normale, ponticello, fingered harmonics)
Performance Modes – Up/Down Arrows – Use these to move a specific articulation up or down an octave. Loop – layers of both reverse and normal articulation so that they loop continuously.
Reverse articulation – playback of the selected articulation in the opposite direction.
Random – With the Bones button at the top left of the interface, you can completely randomize which articulations and performance controls will be activated, which can be useful for discovering new and unusual textures!
Convolution Reverbs – Choose from 4 convolution reverbs.
