AudioThing Bowed Harp (KONTAKT)

By | May 31, 2017

Bowed Harp features samples from an autoharp played with a pick and an EBow. The autoharp is a string instrument similar to a zither. The EBow is a battery-powered electronic device for playing string instruments (like an electric guitar), producing a sound reminiscent of using a bow on the strings. Bowed Harp lets you mix these two sources to create unique plucked and pad sounds. Both sources also feature a selection of 12 impulse responses (4 reverbs, 4 cabinets, 4 effects) to further mangle the sounds.

I see E-bow in the description, just gotta assess this one…… I use a Sonuus i2m guitar audio to MIDI via USB interface. If it’s possible to play and produce the sounds of an E-bow from software, that sure beats the steep learning curve of the E-bow. The i2m audio-to-MIDI interface that I quite cherish is unfortunately monophonic……its blazing fast tracking time, though, outweighs the limitation of single-note playing. Anything that might emulate an E-bow without the steep learning curve of the actual hardware is too incredible to believe….. we’ll see, hopefully.
    thanks man…..
